Petitions Scheme
A petitions scheme has recently been launched at Canterbury. As part of the scheme people who want to set up a petition about a city council issue can now do so online.
Scrutiny has a key role in this process as petitions may be referred to the Overview and Scrutiny Committee for consideration. People can also petition for a senior council officer to attend the Committee to answer questions about an in issue of concern for which they are responsible.
The online petitions facility allows people to create a new petition, or to support an existing e-petition simply by adding a name, address and email address.
