We currently have two scrutiny reviews underway:
The Impact of High Speed 1
A Panel of councillors has been asked to investigate the impact of the High Speed 1 rail service. The review will look at the impact of the High Speed on the classic service and asess the council's policies and the wider economic impact of High Speed 1 on the area around Canterbury West Station, including parking and road users.

Homelessness
The East Kent Homelessness Strategy (2008-2013) is due to be reviewed later this year. A Panel of city councillors are looking at the Strategy now to ensure that Canterbury district's priorities for reducing and preventing homelessness are identified and included in the wider review. The Panel will consider how emerging local and national policy development such as changes to the housing benefit system should be reflected in the Strategy.
