Health Scrutiny Panel

Health Scrutiny - Future Work

Future Work

The panel has been considering its programmes of work for the forthcoming year and would like to hear from members of the public on their recent experiences of healthcare provision in the district to help frame their programme. If you would like to suggest a topic for the panel to review, please contact us

In the meantime, the Health Panel will continue to monitor developments within the NHS to ensure that any changes will not impact negatively on the services received by residents. We shall be seeking ways to strengthen the Health Scrutiny Protocol with Kent County Council and other district councils, and keep an eye on developments within the recently formed Eastern and Coastal Kent Primary Care Trust.

We also intend to conduct a short topic review into a subject that affects the district. In particular we will look atpatient transport to Kent and Canterbury Hospital. The Panel plan to assess the quality of patient transport (public, community, pre-booked ambulance and car parking) in terms of:

  • Timing: punctuality and journey length
  • Cost
  • Comfort
  • Information on transport choices

If you have an experience of patient transport you would like to share with the Panel to inform their review contact us.
