Recommendation: The Committee referred back the decision of the Executive with a request that the Executive be requested to:

  1. Undertake a structured public consultation on the Visitor Information Centre – Improvement Strategy.
  2. Investigate the feasibility of running a seasonal Visitor Information Service on key days of the week during the summer from the Herne Bay Bandstand.
  3. Confirm the Horsebridge position relation to the provision of Visitor Information Centre services.
  4. Consider council services currently being provided in Herne Bay being delivered from the Herne Bay Bandstand.    

Executive action: The reconfiguration of the Visitor Information Service was approved.

Item called–in: Minute No. E134 Beach Volleyball Area and Existing Tennis Courts - Victoria Recreation Ground

Recommendation:

  1. That having considered the objections received for the disposal of part of the Victoria Recreation Ground by the granting of a lease of the provision of Beach Volley Ball Courts and existing Tennis Courts, the proposal be approved on terms to the satisfaction of the Head of Property Services.
  2. That in carrying out (a) above, the council is satisfied that it is for the promotion or improvement of the social wellbeing of their area.    

It was resolved that the decision be accepted and not referred back to the Executive.
