City Life – Balancing the Needs of the Local Community

The council’s Executive have asked scrutiny to take an in-depth look at how the many different policies the council has for the city centre can be co-ordinated effectively with an overall vision to guide the development and management of the city centre.

The Panel will be particularly seeking to co-ordinate actions and plans so there is a cohesive approach to the evening and late-night economy across the areas of licensing, community safety, meeting the needs of young people and families, creating a lively, safe city centre and protecting the reasonable interests of local residents.
